Seek good and not evil

"Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken. Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious..." Amos 5:14-15

For the believer "good and evil" are quite defined without question, yet for the lost and lukewarm; they are without direction and discretion because they lack the Lord, His Holy Spirit and His Word. They live comfortably miserable in the greyscale of blurred lines.

Since we in Christ are lead by Him, we are able to "establish judgement". Judgement here is a favorable or unfavorable verdict. It is based on all things considered but the bottom line is: Does it please the Living God or the flesh?

May we use discretion and our God given understanding for we are without excuse. We've been given discernment and may we first judge our own thoughts, intentions, words and actions according to the preset standards the Lord has defined as "good and evil".
